Victim's Advocate Dave Lewcon
Dave Lewcon
Dave Lewcon draws from a long history of activism for individuals who have been compromised by traumatic situations. In the 1980s he became active in suicide intervention for The Samaritans. In the 1990s, while pursuing his own lawsuit against the Roman Catholic Diocese of Worcester Massachusetts, and his abuser, Dave played a major role in establishing the New England Chapter of SNAP (Survivors Network of Those Abused by Priests). As a victim's advocate listed on the SNAP website, he received hundreds of phone calls and emails from victims worldwide, looking for information and support concerning clergy abuse.
Having been trained in co-active coaching, he incorporates these skills to better assist sexual abuse victims. In 2005, Dave founded Advocates for Change, a non-profit network of co-active coaches. He personally specializes in assisting victims with the many issues resulting from the sexual misconduct of a spiritual elder. He also acts as a resource for other services available to those grappling with this difficult issue. Today, Dave works in the trenches with his clients.
Through Advocates for Change, Dave's services are available to anyone who has questions regarding clergy abuse. All inquiries are, of course, held in strictest confidence. Dave serves as a consultant for the office of attorney Tahira Khan Merritt. You may contact Dave by email at support@tkmlawfirm.com.
